We are so lucky to have such a diversity of breeds volunteering for us in the ARF! Reading Program. Today we sit down (Sit! Stay!) for a chat with Sadie, a border collie-heeler mix who was rescued by our volunteer, Karen Novak.
Q: We hear you were rescued from our local county animal shelter, is that right?
A: Yes! I was so happy to be rescued. And I know how lucky I am –– not every animal got a new forever home like I did, so I count my blessings every day.
Q: Now that you’re out, you’ve been volunteering for ARF! at McKinley School?
A: I have been volunteering there with Karen, my human mom, for a few years now. I was a little shy around the little ones at first, but when I realized they just wanted to give me cuddles and read to me, I relaxed. Now I give them kisses when I see them, and wag my tail!
Q: Describe your perfect day.
A: It would be a day where the morning never ends. Mornings are the best! That’s when I hang out on the patio with mom and dad. We all enjoy the sunshine!
